Father Theodore Foley was an American Passionist priest who is presently being considered for canonization by the Vatican. He was born in 1917 in Springfield, MA, USA, and died in 1974 in Rome. Ordained a Catholic priest, he taught theology and was spiritual director to seminarians of his community until he was elected to the general council of the Passionists in Rome in 1958. In 1964 he was elected superior general and led his worldwide community through difficult times till his death.


He's esteemed by members of his community and others throughout the world as a man of great holiness.
